horizons - two colors

In weaving it intrigues me how structure, material and image are one and the same.

It is inherent to weaving that what is shown on one side is hidden on

the other side, and vice versa. That gives another understanding of

what is front and back, and another perspective on what there is to see

and what is actually there.

I wove the horizon to see the backside of it. On one side a clear distinction, a sharp line, on the other side a vertical continuity.

HORIZON-TO-GO

wall piece | jewelry

Year: 2017

Material: cotton, wool

Size: 150 x 3 cm

This is the first narrow horizon I made. It is a try-out, roughly finished, but it captured the idea very well. I was happy to see how flexible and playful it was. You can hang it over a nail, or wear it around your neck, or even put it in your pocket. A portable horizon.

The horizon is sold at Dead Darlings #12.
