Severine Amsing is an artist born in Middenmeer (NL) in 1972. After a study in historical geography she attended the art academy in Amsterdam (Gerrit Rietveld Academie) from 2000 till 2004. Working with different media in her atelier and on location she concentrates on weaving, photography and drawing. What drives her is the question where she stops and something else begins. Therefore she looks for connections, transitions and borders in the world around her. Landscapes inspire her, as in spaces where connections, transitions and borders occur; where nature, people, time and place intermingle.
